Circa: 1893 Condition: Used Publisher: Isaac Sanderson
Isaac Sanderson of Willimantic Connecticut owned thouroughbred race horse Alcyo in 1890. He wrote this hard bound gilt edged studbook in fine hand. There are twelve pages of entries from 1890, 1891, 1892, and 1893. Included in this rare 19th century horse breeders records are four amazing cabinet photographs of Alcyo including two by Photographer Townsend and one in rare Cyanotype blue sepia image and stud card.
My farm is situated one mile north of the city and contains 200 acres of land. Brood mares at stable $2.50 per week. Alcyo raced at Worcester and Haverhill Massachusetts as well as Norwalk, New Haven and Boston Mystic Park. She was a dark Bay 15-1 hands high. Tracable Victorian Horse race history. |
