Perched pair of mini pet parrots, these Budgie like birds seem to leap off the antique deep black velvet. Apple blossums in white and raspbeery pink sprigs and a most wonderful sculpted frame which clasps the picture, scalloped in highly raised relief.Brass tag reads, Hampden Pat 7 27 1915. Little info is available in between. Popular as cultural icon from the 1950's through the 1980's, his work appears around many kitchen and home decorative accesories. This lithograph is hard mounted on card tile with a ragged green felt backing. The obverse is in excellent shape, vibrant and well juicy. Piece measures eight inches square. Signed Henk Bos D. A.C. Exceptionally sweet drawing of this famous American dog who was welped December Sixth 1932 Sire CH. Wilmarland Trumpeter and Dam Aeolus Meg.
Trumpeter went on to father 11 champion winners including Centinela's Debutante and Playboy,Comar Gay Boy and Marguerite,Mabrouda Of Stockdale and other leading show dogs of the 1930's.
The Hadleys Trumpeter legacy lives on today as fine stock.
