This vintage farm yard boxed med contains original blue tissue paper
wrapped capsules of this early animal cure.
Included in the box are full instructions and the old Brass Trocar
like applicator remedy tools.
This nasty disease also affects humans.
According to the Merck Veterinary manual, Lumpy jaw is a chronic, progressive, indurated, granulomatous, suppurative abscess that most frequently involves the mandible, the maxillae, or other bony tissues in the head. Yikes!
So don't be kissing cows!

Iron Hog tongs were used by Veterinarians and farmers alike.

Victorian Veterinary Birth Control Ram Scarer RARE 19th century Veterinarian Ram Scarer. From Ireland this antique Veterinary rarity was used circa 1870 to protect farm animals. Worn by ewes, female sheep this odd Antique medical device would dangle underneath to prevent overly amorous rams from breeding. Looks like a pretty formidable medical method.

Extremely rare, this ram scarer is depicted in Sotheby's treatise, Antique Medical Instruments by Elisabeth Bennion, page 226 item # 16 from the Castle Museum York.
