this Moderne bird cage in 1954.
Aluminum beak proof round bars actually roll,
eliminating bird bite purchase or grip.
Facing front and back of cage closed with thick Glass panes,
giving the ultimate free bird image.
Original perches most unusual and several vintage bird toys included.
Slide out tray for easy clean up,
fits into thick decorative black metal base frame.

turned away from traditional singing canaries.

Victorian Bird Cage Post Civil War IBM Circa 1870 antique bird cage.
This birdcage was often seen in American homes in the late Victorian age.
A generic style made to imitate Hendryx cages,
it would likely have housed wild song birds such as finch, sparrow species.
Sold by large wholesale bird import houses such as Philadelphia, Geisler, New York,
Chicago and other Hartz San Andreas Canary companies.
They were usually made by German craftsmen unbranded.
Perfect for recreating a Tom Sawyer, Huckleberry Finn Americana era setting.
Painted heavy black in antiquity,
this birdcage could also be stripped back to original or colorfully refinished as you like.
Tray has four raised feet on bottom making cage suitable for mantle or birdstand display.
Bone white porcelain grit feeder cup marked Germany on bottom.
Recently we had the pleasure of lending THIS cage out for a photo shoot to IBM and it will appear on their Advertising campaign with Ned & Gil.

Bird Cage Ruby Red Atomic Age Parakeet Post war vintage birdcage decorative clear plastic with a golden hue and flavored with ruby red bird cage accessories.
Fully usable, yet rare as few survived the solar melt and rigors of a half century of time passing.
Original slide out bright red bottom tray with removable feeder cups, swing, twin perches and red heart mirror, all very fine.
Stable though very small age cracks on lower corners, unaffecting use or display.
As canaries became replaced by parakeets, budgies and cockatiels in the late 1940's Beco Industries made this and several other decorative cages in this style.

Beco All Plastic Bird Cage was the trade name for pet products made by Bernard Edward Company Chicago Illinois.
Using Monsanto Lustrex Stryenne, this premium pet palace earned the Good Housekeeping seal.
Considered more art then utilitarian, the design won the Fashion Academy Gold medal award a postwar honor for modern design.
Few have made it to today and especially scarce is the Ruby Red Happy Days bird cage.
